About Vietnam Photo Workshop

While it is true that anyone can pack up and head off to Vietnam with their gear and snap away, our team at Vietnam Photo Workshop offers set of workshops where you will have a chance to photograph and learn what would be difficult on your own.  Our workshops are specifically aimed to serve photographers, amateur and professional alike. We have a team of photography experts to provide assistance where required and are happy to help with equipment. What we have done for our guests is to pre-visit the most sought after beauty spots and places of photographic interest of this mystical and spectacular country, arrange for accommodation (where required), permission to shoot (where required) and transportation from one place to another.

VIETNAM PHOTO WORKSHOP INSTRUCTORS:

JarekN

JarekN a Polish/Canadian has been passionate about photography since his childhood days. From the time he received his first camera he knew that photography would always hold a special place in his heart.

Since 2001 JarekN switched to Nikon’s top of the line digital gear, which in his opinion, combined with digital dark room gives him the tools to create that what can only be limited by the imagination. His photo-journalistic style combined with experience in studio, event and sport photography ensure fabulous results.

He is fascinated with travel and after having made his way through most of the Caribbean he decided in 2010 to take a 7 month trip to Asia (visiting Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia). During his travel he had opportunity to further expand his portfolio and take part in a natural light workshop lead by his favorite photographer Manuel Librodo. As of 2010 he decided to spend more time in Asia, most of which he spends in Vietnam.

Nicolas Vidal

Originating in Rivel, in Southern France, Nicolas Vidal began prospecting for tour operators and foreign investors in South-East Asia in the early 1990s. In a time of opening and closed countries, during wars, embargo and internal conflicts, he lead numerous surveys in Burma, Southern, Central and Northern Laos, Cambodia and in Vietnam.

Spending time in remote lands, living amongst the ethnic minorities, he is the self-taught natural and spiritual successor of the French explorer Henri Maitre (the author of the famous “Jungles Moï” who disappeared in 1914) and Jean Boulbet (ethnographer of the Cau Maa’).

Nicolas Vidal thereby became ethnologist and expert of these isolated regions of high plateaus, jungles, mountains and of their little known populations, especially over the last few decades. Since 2007, Vidal has continued to survey the last remaining remote areas of the South-East Asia peninsula, consulting for TV production companies, and foreign or local companies.

Nicolas Vidal’s photographic work is mainly focused on people and ethnography.

In 2010 Nicolas Vidal assisted the International Rugby player Frederic Michalak in the creation of “Tends la Main”, the “People’s of the World” organization, with the aim of assisting South Eastern Asian ethnic minorities and their environments. http://www.tendslamain.com
